Tallinn air cargo community kicked off 2020 with Finnair cargo digitization project manager Mika Leppänen visiting Air Cargo Collaboration Estonia to demonstrate how Finnair digitizes air cargo. Andrus Durejko, CEO of Ericsson Estonia also introduced manufacturer´s vision and demo of data sharing in their supply chain.

Both Finnair and Ericsson, together with cargo handler & RFS provider Ospentos and Air France-KLM, are members of one of the six IATA ONERecord pilot projects developing a data sharing standard in the logistics supply chain. The pilot (called shortly DCF) will be also joined this year by global airfreight forwarders, thus ensuring participation of all major stakeholders in the supply chain, a unique set-up among the six pilots.

Tallinn is a „home market“ for Finnair Cargo who is driving numerous IT projects to target sustainable profitable growth by increasing efficiency and customer experience. Estonian capital is also home to Ericsson´s largest R&D and manufacturing unit. Therefore it is no surprise that the city on the Baltic shore has become a breeding ground for innovative (logistics) software solutions.
