Thank you to everyone who participated in the 18MAR workshop where we gave an overview of the goals and short-term plans of the Digital Logistics Ecosystem.

As a result of the workshop:

• we have initiated a daily morning 30-minute virtual information space where you get an overview of the progress and you have the opportunity to provide your input.
• we have created three working groups:
  • a technical team who has created a technical data exchange infrastructure and help the service providers and clients who have joined the project to create interfaces;
  • a service development team whose task is to form contacts with potential data exchange platform users to find out how the joined party gets value from the system and which are its expectations of the service that is being created;
  • a legislation team whose task is to find out what needs to be changed contractually or in national regulations so that the service can run smoothly and create added value to the participants.
• we have created a joint information space where all parties involved get an overview of the DLe goals, important contacts, work management and the technical documentation.
• the priority of the current week’s progress was to achieve the reliability of the data exchange platform and to create interfaces with Tallink information systems. We are now eagerly anticipating carriers who have daily bookings on Tallink ships and perform transportation across the gulf. We will soon extend this opportunity to also other shipping lines so that it becomes the standard and ensures that the users of a digital waybill have comfortable and fast access to the ship.
• we tested our concept’s viability against risk investors. It is important to get a sober assessment also from people outside the sector. Whether investors are ready to put real money into the idea is an important truth criterion. It is said that a client who is interested and a client who is paying money are like day night and day. The first one considers the idea interesting but the second one sees value to his business.

Our priorities for the next week are:

• create interfaces to service providers that offer the capability of digital waybills – MobiCarnet, Qstep, WayBiller
• ensure Tallink interface performance and to grow the clients using it to 10
• Memo Of Understanding – specify how the IP of the client who has subscribed to the service and that of the service provider can be protected.
